I've got a 1987 944S with VEMS ECU that I'm picking up an S2 engine for this weekend. I'll be a couple of weeks rebuilding the engine before I install it,I'm hoping to have it on the Dyno by the start of March.
Welcome aboard! I'm actively working on more how-to's, so keep your eyes open and don't be a stranger! This is a very 944-friendly place. :)

Welcome wem!!! I think I saw your post about the vinyl stripe on the Taycan forum, and it made me stop working on my own solution. It's one of those things that you see and immediately say "of course!" I'll put a mamba bezel on the list for you! Keep up the great posts and bring along some of your Taycan friends and there might even be some Carpokes swag in it for you. :)

OK, might as well check-in with my bio. I was one of the early contributors to Rennlist and am a Lifetime Member.

Name: Tom Pultz

Location: Sammamish, WA (on the plateau, a couple of lakes East of Seattle)

Occupation: Retired Boeing Propulsion Engineer

First Porsche: 1965 356C. Engine had many mods: 912 case and crank, 1750 cc big bore kit, Norris cam, S90 intake valves, 48 IDA Webers, etc. This car was so much fun to drive as the engine pulled like crazy. Unfortunately, a big box truck backed into it and crunched the front end when my wife was driving to her final checkup before giving birth to #1 son.

Current crop:
1) 1989 944 Turbo, Guards Red/Linen. It was a gift from my son as he got tired of spending money on it and had no place for it in Seattle... he's moved on to a Honda Odyssey for our 3 granddaughters :D Currently pretty much stock except for 17" 911 twist wheels, which are being replaced with new 18" BBS RS-GTs. Looks like this car will get the Motion Control Suspension I purchased from Karl at Racer's Edge last April, and my spare set of big black calipers and matching C2 3.6 Turbo rotors.
2) 1990 944 S2, Guards Red/Black. Owned since December 1997. Have spent many times the purchase price on parts and upgrades, mostly brake, suspension, wheels and tires, etc.
3) 2003 Audi A4 1.8TQ, Denim Blue/Black. Changed the trans to a 6MT 01E with WaveTrac diffs front and rear, RS4 goodies: 8 piston front calipers, rear sway bar, mirrors; B7 S4 rear calipers, StaSIS Ohlins SL coilover, 19" BBS RS-GT; APR engine goodies.
4) 2003 Honda Civic Si, Vivid Blue Pearl. Mugen Sports Suspension, 17" BBS. This is the only car my wife will drive! Looking to replace it with a 2022 Golf R... but the Si is so reliable and easy to drive I may just keep it.

You’re being too kind to BMW, I bought BMW’s from 1977 - 2009. IMO, they went from the ultimate driving machine to a German Camry. The M cars are still great.

Welcome to Carpokes! Love the Taycan🤙🏻

Welcome aboard Vis! The intergalactic headquarters of carpokes is right here in Santa Clara County, so this clearly needs to be your home forum. :)

Hello World!
My name is Lee. I currently own 2 1986 944 turbo (1 running and 1 with broken timing belt). My first Porsche was a 1988 924S I purchased in 1998. I also have a 1992 Mercedes 500E (the car Porsche built for MB). I do all the mechanical/maintenance work myself. I am building a workshop, which I hope (based on weather and job demands) to have the first phase (inspections completed with CO) completed by the end of March. Phase 2 (insulation, finished ceiling/walls, 2 post lift and heat) complete by late summer. I am located in the Huntsville AL area.
Thanks
