For my Rainforest Green 996
Hi Todd - I don't think you ever got a welcome from when you first joined last July, so I'll extend one here. Welcome to Carpokes!
As for your plate, I'm still pondering and working on the interpretation. So far I'm leaning towards something using "Mr ...." or "Emerald ..." (However, your car is Rainforest Green so I may be on the wrong path with Emerald.) Gotta leave for an appt - I'll work on this later!
+1 on the warm welcome to Carpokes. I'd read that plate as Emerald (MRLD) Dream (DRM)?

That's it Tom! I had to quit my pondering to take one of my doggies to the the Vet (regular visit - all's good!), and hadn't figured out the "DRM" part yet but you did! It's obvious to me now in hindsight! (I need more hindsight in advance to avoid foresight that's lacking hindsight...

Nice! Welcome to Carpokes!
Love the GT4s - sorry that they've been shelved by Porsche going forward but that's the P-way.
Browse around the site when you can - lots of topics and posts and pictures.

@Robert986
Your topic has grown marvelously - thank you for starting it!
Just a heads up that since so many are posting on the thread with cars other than water-cooled 911's, I'm going to move the topic to "The O.K. Corral" where more might see it.

I had this plate registered to a '66 427 C2 Roadster for 20 or more years. I let the plate expire a few years before I sold the car. Should have kept it! (The valid registration, that is. I have the license plate.) (Should have kept the Corvette too.)
Anyway, "Detour" is a nod to the 1945 film by Edgar Ulmer, one of many classics for B&W Film Noir buffs like myself. It also has a significant big car/road trip connection - it's an odd road film of sorts.

Plus, the word detour has many other connections and meanings in life!
