You know what's funny? The hood struts are brand new and are 100% functional - I just still put a stick in there out of habit and/or lack of trust in the strutsCruise98 wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 5:02 am I need the part number on that stick! We have all done that. I use it on the hatch now.

By the way, move that linked build thread over here! This is where all the cool kids are now, and we'll appreciate it more I promise.

You are d' Man! Thank you! I started responding to the other thread, but then realized you were still posting so didn't want to break the chain. Looks like the original thread has been dormant since 2014 (?), or am I just missing the latest under the torrent of pop-up ads? (Try surfing that site without being logged in -- yikes!)crackership wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 1:40 pmThe build thread is now on Carpokes here!Tom wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 7:23 pmThose are two highly representative pictures of the 951 -- one at speed on the road, and the other in the garage with a stick holding up the hood.crackership wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 6:38 pm This one's my favorite pic of my car:

I'm all done updating the new thread for now - comment away! I think 2014 or so was the last I updated over there - Today was the first time I've logged in in a very long time.. And you're right, it feels super weird.Tom wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 1:57 pmYou are d' Man! Thank you! On Rennbow it's listed as Azzurrothetys Metallic. It looks more blue in one of the member submitted pics but more silvery bluish (and accurate) in the other pics there. Picture color shifts at Rennbow and elsewhere are common regarding color accuracy in pictures taken in different light with different cameras on different cars.Cruise98 wrote: Wed Apr 05, 2023 8:10 am It looks amazing. Is this one of the current PTS offerings from Porsche?

It's a stunning color without a doubt and my guess is that whalenlg's 944 pic in the paint booth is the most accurate rendition, although it's probably a color that shifts dramatically in different light, while also taking on colors around it. Did I mention that it's a gorgeous color?
I glanced around the configurator and didn't find it on the "normal" PTS offerings for a couple of the models that I looked at. I imagine that you could get it using PTS Plus which, as I understand it, could cost $50, $75 or even $100k
Porsche now has several color levels with offerings and prices. For example there is Standard Color ($0), Metallic Color ($840 for 911's), Special Color ($3,270 for 911's), limited Paint to Sample ($13,150 for 911's) and, not listed on the configurator or anywhere else, Paint to Sample Plus which is any color you want that Porsche will approve that reportedly will be priced in the $50k to $100k range.

Nice summary!
It was originally a Lambo color.
I wandered in to Marin Porsche a few months ago and a 911 was on the floor in this color. $11k PTS upgrade was what they mentioned at the time and gave me the color name.
It’s somewhat close to the original 944 Sapphire that was on the car, but as you mentioned, much more interesting in different lighting.

It looks very similar to my Glacier Metallic 951; different lighting = different amounts of blue or silver seen.
