Funny, I have had a number of harbor freight tools that lasted forever but just weren’t very good. It’s a pleasure to use a good tool and annoying to use crap! In fact I replaced an angle grinder that wouldn’t die with the Metabo, made me wish I had done that a long time ago. I have a cordless Dewalt angle grinder/ cut off and it comes in handy, but the metabo is way nicer

@chris white Thanks for the recommendation for an angle grinder, just bought one for home use. Made in Germany according to the box, which was a pleasant surprise in today's world. We have an old Bosch corded angle grinder at my shop that has served us well for many years, but I wanted something for home use now that I acquired a silly project car that won't be allowed at the shop by my boss

@Tom I have an ever-growing collection of Milwaukee Fuel tools for both shop and home use, and they are great. The latest addition (a M18 sawzall) can be seen in the background of the pic below. However for an angle grinder I think corded is still the way to go, especially if it is used frequently for sheet metal work and welding on a car---even the higher Ah Li-ion tool batteries will deplete quickly with such use (even if you have multiple batteries to swap back and forth, not good for them to constantly run dead), and air tools are simply too loud for continuous use. Just don't cut the cord

Wow, I was proud of myself for replacing axle seals and fuel lines. Now I feel inadequate again.... . I hope you post updates on progress. These projects and the skill needed fascinate me!
