Replaced some velcro for my "718 Cayman" embroidered felt badge for my Frunk...
Rather embarrassing.... I only just now discovered the yellow cover holder for the frunk cover (as seen in photos)... Had no idea. Every time I needed in there, I just took it off and put it some where in my garage... I should have known better Porsche had a solution for that

As a “Recovering Perfectionist”, I’ll let it slide
There’s no way I’m the only one that didn’t know about this thing lol

First road trip and a filthy car................
My wife had a meeting on Mon morning in Gunnison CO so I volunteered to be the chauffer and take the Cayman. Leaving from just west of Denver, we headed towards Buena Vista CO to hit Cottonwood Pass, which is now paved in both directions and to stay over night in Crested Butte CO. We had not been on this route nor in Crested Butte in 20 yr. Cottonwood Pass tops out at just over 12,000 ft (~3600 m) and the road is a cornucopia of turns! It used to be a dirt road and it took 3 yr to pave it.
Leaving Sun we dealt with all of the RV and travel trailers (some so big they were being towed with a tractor from a semi) coming back from the weekend trip or their Sun move to a new campground. Public Service Announcement: Twisty roads and 30 mph is very bland but at least we were in the Cayman! We ran through some rain storms and wound up in Crested Butte to glorious sun 75 F temps and a great evening with dinner downtown along Coal Creek. We stayed at the Elk Mtn Lodge that had a great view from our balcony of Crested Butte itself. We drove up to the ski resort and onto the back side for some great views of the Elk Range of mountains.
After the meeting on Mon, we headed back home having to pause to let some really strong high mountain thunderstorms pass and we had heard of some snow above 13,000 ft. We saw some at the end of the drive as we descended over the last pass on the backside of the continental divide. Being a Mon afternoon just about all of the RVs and travel trailers were absent. Before us was 57 mi of twisty road and very little traffic. It was a blast! Made really good time and got back ahead of schedule even with the storm delay. The car is a CPO and they had put new Yokohama Advan Sport tires all around. Very impressed with their handling in the wet and non-hydroplaning behavior.
Went through 3 or 4 bouts of rain and saw 4 rainbows, some of which were double rainbows. The car is now filthy - but happy! Impressed on how comfortable the Cayman is for a road trip and the ability to hold two carry on suitcases and a briefcase in the frunk.
Off to clean the Cayman!

It has been a long time since we went cycling at Crested Butte and fishing on the Dolores R and the Black Canyon. We were talking yesterday about making the trip in September, then your post arrived. Thanks for the extra motivation! We take the Cayman on long road trips and agree it is amazing. We find room for two cases of wine that we fill along the way, with plenty of room for duffles. We might have to forgo the wine if we take fishing gear. Big decision.

Wine vs Fishing Gear… Wine for the Win
Yes!

Go off the rails - roof storage (for the fishing gear, not the wine...

); have the wine shipped back home; rent fishing gear; use portable angling gear; reconsider the "we" part and use the pass seat for more wine

; swim with the fishes this trip...
Lots of options! Lol.

Great suggestions, thanks! I was a little bit joking as we have used everyone of those strategies before with the Cayman except the roof box. For fishing we take our X1M and the Thule box, which keeps the wet and muddy stuff out of the car. I never test fit the box on the Cayman. They actually look OK on a 911, sort of rally ready, but I expect my "significant-other-detailer" will balk. May not be able to fully open the rear hatch, but time to try it since Cayman wants a run.

Finally put the clear side markers on.
Looks better on a Chalk car IMO. I resisted for a long time but finally got it done, and it went perfectly.
