I've been busy with customer projects, which has pushed my spring maintenance much later than I would have liked. Finally had some time the last couple of days to replace the plugs, serpentine belt and air filters. I changed the oil back in November before weather was real bad and putting the car down for the winter.

Plugs are easy and straight forward. It was the first time for me to replace the serpentine belt. I ended up pulling the muffler since I was having trouble getting to the star bolts on the bracket for the crank oil inlet pipe. The hardest part of the belt swap is putting the spacer back in for the engine carrier. Ended up using a ratchet strap on the bracket and the other end on the tow hook of my pickup. Just kept tightening the strap until I can wedge the space in place and tap it in with a hammer.

Proud of you Todd! That's a project I would never even think about touching. Nice!

Yeah, I have to admit there is virtually nothing (short of paint and upholstery) that I don't do myself on the 944, but I somehow think of the new cars as magic machines that only the dealer can touch. If I keep one long enough for the warranty to expire, maybe I'd be more inclined to dig in. Nice to see under the covers on that motor -- it's re-assuring to see familiar parts when all stripped back and exposed like that. Based on that picture, does the rear bumper cap need to come off to change the air filters? I guess that bumper cap needs to come off to do just about anything....?

I'm sure you've told us before, but what green is that car? It's gorgeous...

Yep, bumper cover comes out to get to the air filters. I'm out of warranty and try not to think about that...

Viper Green, sometimes called Kelly Green. From the early 70's. My inspiration for the car was the 2.7 RS.

Paint code is 225 and on a sticker on the back of the car.
