Hi Everyone,
I had to share this tip - For a few years I'd been struggling with a generic, POS 60mm corrugated aluminum supply hose for the alternator air duct in my 944S. I finally had enough of the 1 hour super frustrating exercise to get it on witout collapsing and folding over on me as I worked under the car.
I ordered a real one (944 603 153 01) from OEM Luxury Parts, who incidentally have some of the best prices on Porsche parts I've seen yet, and it came this morning. It's quite stiff and rubbery; I was doubtful. But this hose literally slipped into place in about 30 seconds, no muss, no fuss. Best $60.00 I've spent on Gretchen yet.

Mine keeps slipping off as well.
I'll have to give a new OEM one a try!

Is that a common issue? Mine seemed snug when I reassembled a few months back. Maybe I need to check

On my car, the clamps for that are the wire loop kind. Maybe to avoid having a sharper 'cutting' edge on the fabric of the hose? Absent that and forced to use screw clamps, a handy narrow 'strip' of black Gorilla Tape around the hose might offer enough protection. For sure the clamp needs only be snug enough to keep the hose from falling off. Great find on the hose!

20 years ago, I purchased a similar diameter rubberized fabric with wire from McMaster Carr. I think minimum length was. 3 feet. I used about 18”. I think I just used the other part of the hose on my newer (to me) 944 because it was missing. I think I went the McMaster Carr because at the time, Porsche wanted $$$ for something that was not really that expensive.
