Was testing the wipers and constantly turning the ignition key on and off when I started to smell fuel. After looking all over notice a puddle on the floor under the gas tank, Focus 9 Solid State relay working as it should.

The hoses between the pump and filter and filter to hard line are sweating fuel, they are not broken and there are no visible cracks, they are just sweating a lot of fuel. I have never seen this before, very peculiar.

I have some 6AN fitting and hoses around and want to rebuild these hoses with 6AN but I am having trouble finding the ID size of the banjo connection on the fuel pump outlet/check valve.

Do any of you know what size fitting will work?

Also is it safe to assume that I can remove these lines without to much fuel leaking out because of the check valve, or should I empty the tank before trying this.

Here are my notes from an estwhile wiki project:

These lines are in the rear, by the gas tank. One runs between the tank and the pump, and one between the pump and the outgoing hard line. They're kinda expensive to replace, and also need to be modified (or replaced) for aftermarket filters/pumps. Here are some critical bits of information:

AN-6 tubing fits nicely on the filter -> hard line fittings. You can grind off the crimped sleeve and re-use the undamaged barbs. Use quality hose clamps.
The pump -> filter line is slightly smaller, but it's possible to replace everything with AN-6 fittings and hose.
The filter comes with pre-installed adapters. Remove those, and they're 14mm x 1.5mm threads. Russell 670523 (-6 AN to 14mm adapter) works well. Match this with a 90 degree AN-6 hose end (Russell p/n 610163).
The stock Bosch fuel pump (on the author's 1989 951) has an M12 sized banjo bolt outlet. The Edelbrock banjo fittings will not fit. Brand name M12 banjo to AN-6 fittings are scarce but available, use your best judgement. You can retain the original banjo bolt, but please use new washers. Mate this to a straight -6 hose end (Russell p/n 610023).
An alternative is to use a M10x1.0 to AN-6 fitting into another 90 degree hose end. These fittings (the adapters) are likewise not available from the major brands, unfortunately.

tldr: M12 on the pump output. I think I used the banjo bolt option. I've since replaced the pump with (I think) 0580464201, which....also has M12 output. I think I got the AC Performance one off Amazon. It looks like there also exist no-name-ish -6 to M12 banjo hose ends.

Finding these kinds of adapters took me a long time but I've tended to gravitate to Racetronix (https://www.racetronix.biz/c/hose-fitti ... -more/c319, no affiliation) for a good selection of adapters in one place.

Speedflow also has a nice selection of adapters (https://speedflowusa.com/pages/adapters).

Good luck
