Need to replace leaking fuel injectors on my 1.7 914.
Has anyone used the injectors being sold on Rock Auto, Parts Geek, Car Parts?
They do not appear to be Bosch as the originals were, but are priced reasonably.
914 source, Automobile Atlanta, has remanufactured Bosch ones, but are approx $160 each.
Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Have you considered sending yours to be rebuilt? I have used RC Fuel Injection's rebuild service many times and have always been pleased. It is often hard to beat for the price ($35 for hose feed injector).

Please post here with your experience if you do decide to get the aftermarket ones from Rockauto, etc..

I would second that. I've used them for several cars over the years and they are great. Reasonable cost and a fast turnaround.

Thanks for the replies and rebuild source referral.
I did not know they existed.
I may need them if the replacement injectors (from Oreilly auto parts) do not fit or work correctly.

2nd on having them sent out for service. There’s so much counterfeit junk infiltrating into reputable store fronts I sometimes wonder if I should have the new stuff tested too

My feeble memory is that the injectors are common to the 1.7L 411/412 VW models, as well as the VW "thing". Don't know if that adds source options.

I'll second the option for "rebuilding" services. Besides cleaning and verifying the flows and flow balance among yours, you typically get all new seals and o-rings, plus new pintle caps for those that use them. The port injectors on your car are particularly sensitive to deposits on the nozzle from crankcase oil fumes gathering and eventually coking on engine shutdown. They are "fuel cooled" while the engine is running, but quickly heat up on shutdown from cylinder head heat migration.
