I just got a short shifter for my manual transmission 2022 Boxster S. I’m very pleased with the feel and performance — quicker shifts, just as precise, and a more natural resting height for my arm. It’s the Porsche OEM version.

I installed a Porsche short shifter in my 987 CS and loved UT, didn't do something my 981 CGTS, but considered it. Now that I have a 982 GTS 4.0 I've thought about it but sonar not taken the the plunge. The shifter in my car is sublime if a bit long, but I don't track it so I'm pretty content with the standard shifter. Convince me.

I don't have the short shifter but I have not heard a single person who has been dissatisfied with it. I'm considering it for my Cayman GTS 2.5.

The only negative I've heard is that reverse is a little harder to engage than stock shifter.

Maybe a bit harder to get into reverse, but nothing significant.

That’s something I’ve considered for my CGTS40. Did you or a shop do the install? Cost?

The Short Shifter is actually the same one as in 911 R, Carrera T, 991.2 GT3, and 981/718 GT4 and is pretty simple to install yourself. Suncoast parts has it for $285 (PK9X1SSU)

Numeric Racing has guides to install their short shifter but it's the same methods. See if you would want to DIY or pay someone but shouldn't take a shop more than 2 book hours of labor to do.
