Our local Porsche dealer has templates - a bunch of them. I even know where they keep 'em stored.

Unlike Leader's experience with his Porsche dealer, the techs here are extraordinarily conscientious, at least all the ones I deal with. Maybe that is out of the ordinary regarding cosmetic type work but I wouldn't think Porsche certified techs would be sloppy about anything related to their work. They have to be good on the cosmetic side of things, especially considering all of the various trim panels, body parts, dashboards, seats, add-ons, etc. inside and outside the vehicles that have to be removed to fix pretty much anything on later gen Porsches.

But, as with pretty much everything in our lives, it boils down to the individual(s) doing whatever it is that needs to be done. No one is guaranteed immunity from shoddy, untrained, unskilled work or care no matter the field. However, steps can be taken to limit risk.

How difficult is it to remove an existing badge? I’m considering removing my existing ‘718 Cayman GTS’ and adding a GTS emblem.

Use dental floss. Get the strong kind like Glide. After the emblem comes off heat the area gently with a hair dryer, keep it moving, and some sort of glue remover that's approved for painted surfaces. You can even heat the emblem before flossing it, just don't get it too hot.

PPF guys do it easily using very thin monofilament as I've been told. Getting the replacement positioned correctly is the next challenge after finding the one you want. Aftermarket maybe or used? New from dealer is crazy expensive. Attaching a used one properly is another hurdle without the adhesive that comes on the new ones. :)

Didn't want to start a new thread as it's a related topic but... can someone help me out by measuring the distance from the bottom of the "PORSCHE" trim to the top of the model designation badge (in the center)? I think the PPF company installed mine too low.

I did see a picture from another forum that showed 1 and 5/8" below the PORSCHE trim but mines currently at 3" below which is way more than 1" off. Comparing my before/after pictures it appears about the same albeit slightly off but not more than 1" off. It also could be the angle of the bumper and picture where I can't get quite right.

So I'm hoping to double check with someone here if possible. Thanks!

Thank you, from that angle definitely looks higher than mine.

Do you mind measuring the distance between bottom of the "PORSCHE" black trim piece and top of the "C" if it's convenient for you?
Also is the bottom tip of the "y" in Cayman sitting flat to the panel?
My "y" is hanging over the curve with a little bit of lift, so another sign to me that it's placed too low.
