No Sir. The kit is much, much different. We CNC-cut individual gauge lenses using the best museum clear acrylic we could find (Tru View) that features "99% UV Protection, Abrasion Resistance, Anti-Reflective, Anti-Static, Shatter Resistance" per the mfg specs found here. The lenses are the single most expensive parts in the kit. The kit also has a unique dimmable LED lighting system designed to work with these gauge rings to deliver good distribution of light across the gauge faces (virtually eliminating shadows from the rings) and across the cluster in general.

With the DIY STL, the rings sit under the factory plastic lens.
Ahh that makes sense now why i thought they were open. You have museum quality faces with virtually no reflection. Nice work!

They do reflect some, but it's a dark green without the glare you'd get from regular glass or acrylic. I haven't been in an air-cooled 911 since developing this kit, but am relatively confident this kit has way less reflective glare than those car....

I feel like your kit has nearly NO glare, I really appreciate it over my old faded and cracked console plastic...

Thank you for saying that -- that was the goal for sure. I just prefer to under-promise and over-deliver. :) I became moderately obsessed with fighting glare when designing this kit. Once you are focused on it, it's pretty amazing how much glare some OEM cars have. My GMC Canyon, for example, has so much glare you can't see the speedometer when the sun is on it. They tried to make the lens into a conical shape to reduce the overall area that reflects, but there's only so much they can do with cheap reflective plastic. On the other hand, the museum stuff I use is stoopid expensive so probably cost-prohibitive for a typical pick-up truck.
