Agreed-Softtronic is another great alternative and there is a dongle to return to stock at home.

They do ECU swaps for prior to 992 models but not with the 992. You are correct about the factory warranty. The Plus model includes coverage on the engine that is not covered under the factory warranty for repair due to the tune.Tom wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 4:29 pm Thanks. I had an APR tune on my 991.2 and it was amazing. Ridiculously fast and wonderful throttle response. Totally changed the car and it was installed by the dealer! I'll be putting it on my new 992 in about a year.

I’ve tuned my previous cars, 997.1 and 997.2 GT3’s and a 2017 C2S… but all were out of warranty. I’m hesitant to do a tune in my brand new 992 GTS… particularly when the tune company won’t replace the new car warranty with their own. APR states they’ll do it, but it’ll cost extra. That doesn’t sound like standing by their product confidently at all to me.

I tuned my car after it was out of factory warranty but under a Fidelity warranty. I did a LOT of researching online for nearly a year and struggled to find even one account of anyone experiencing any sort of engine failure resulting from any of the typical off-the-shelf or ‘stage 1’ tunes. Seems like these basic entry level tunes do not push these engines anywhere near their capabilities. I looked at them all. APR, Cobb, FVD, GIAC, and Softronic. All of them have a pretty spotless record at the entry level. Has anyone tried this tune for the 992 platform? I would be interested in hearing your feedback. Based on the numbers from the APR websites the HP gains look impressive. I would be interested to know if anyone has done a pre-tune and post-tune dyne comparison? From what I have read the numbers Porsche states are conservative and the car makes much more power and torque. If this is true are the APR gains representative of the true HP gains or gains over porches conservative numbers?

Yes Porsche underrated their number, but if you look at APR’s graphs and numbers, it gives you hp measured by Porsche and hp measure by APR, both stock. So their numbers show their own before and then the after.
