Re: Classic Car Weekday Driving Ban

We have a very effective historic/classic car registration system in Australia using a logbook with up to 60 days use per year. Regular car rego costs around AUD$1000 per year but for any car over 30 years old you can join a car club and then register a historic (stock)/classic (modified) car for ...

Re: Cubby below radio

Also, an update on the PLA print I have in my car. I used Overture PLA+ which prints at 230 degrees C and after 10 months and some hot summer drives (30 degrees C) it hasn't deformed. So far so good.

Re: Koni Shock Installation Issue

Here some pictures with the car on the ground. As you can see ride height is normal but notice how much the shock extend past the mounting bolt

This looks OK to me. The suspension needs to be able to extend as well as compress so the shock should extend a fair way ...

Any Chance you have the design files for the cubby?
I've attached an export from Audodesk Fusion to the original post at the top.

Re: Power Steering Not Working but no visible leaks

@whalenlg have you replaced the reservoir? It's a consumable item as it has a filter in the bottom. Easy to find as it's common across many Euro cars.

Re: Case of the missing coolant

Also, I’m refitting the cooler element and if I have the plastic washer between the element and housing I’m noticing that the element is sitting significantly more proud than the housing itself. I was wondering if it’s okay for me to go ahead with the install excluding the plastic shim? If I test ...

Re: Case of the missing coolant

@Poorsche44 I had a socket on the end of the OPRV with a short extension and lay under the car which was on jack stands.

First I threaded the end in without the plunger and spring to see the correct angle,
then it was just muscle, sweating and swearing until it started to thread in :)

Re: Case of the missing coolant

Perfect, thank you so much! I saw someone made a 3d file for the 3 piece tool on here so I’ll print that sometime this week.

That’s the one I posted after replacing the o-rings and gasket on my oil cooler recently. A few tips since it’s still fresh for me:

1. Removing the oil cooler and ...

Re: Door Card Repair Suggestions

Thank you for the 3D printing suggestion, I will have to look into that. The 3D printing options that I currently have access to only allow PLA printing. Not sure if this will hold up over time but I hope that I can combine this material with an epoxy base to really strengthen the area.

Any ...

3 Piece OPRV Alignment Tool

This is for the older style 3 piece OPRV. I recently replaced the oil cooler housing o-rings and gaskets and found one on Thingiverse but I made this with a larger shoulder so it's easier to sit it square in the housing.

I printed in PLA with 5 walls and about 50% infill with random seam. Probably ...
